midgame no item upkeep dark fog farm, no item overflow, all items (no wood, organic matter, hydrogen, deuterium)
I found a lack of dark fog farms that provide all the items (useful for midgame) and also don't shut down on item stack overflow, so I decided to spend some time making one.
dark fog farm i built for midgame, points towards one (two if you're feeling lucky, may need extra turrets) planetary bases each. add more lasers at the front if additional firepower is needed. plasma turrets off by default, (can be turned on for levelling, needs a distributor supplying antimatter capsule). bring your own power. other than antimatter capsules for levelling uses nothing except power. items that reach max stacks do not affect other items. all items have logistics distributor export.
- Provide your own power before building (20-50MW depending on item transfer rate, plasma turret status)
- Any item overflow/max storage does not affect other items
- All items except wood, organic matter, hydrogen and deuterium
- Uses no items (unless needed to level up the base)
- Clears max dark fog level with level 5 combat research (pre-white)
- Can face any direction in the center tropic line
- Must face equator on other tropic lines
PLS not part of the blueprint. Photo contains export logistics and a second identical farm next to the first one. Photo also has a few extra (unnecessary) turrets compared to the blueprint which I added for fun. Turret backline technically not necessary but protects from the rear end and sides in case of raid from other undefended planetary bases, as well as supporting frontline turrets if guardians get too close (hasn't happened yet, but had an old farm I lost that way so I built it just in case).
Can be placed anywhere with the front up to 30 degress away from the equator, as long as the blueprint fits within a tropic line. Smaller turretless version (add turrets later) for more ease of placement (can be placed as long as facing the equator and fits with a tropic line) can be used instead.
