BIE's Solar Gigacharger with Work Crew (5.4GW)

"I want to use a gigacharger, but I don't have a Dyson sphere!"  "I want to use a gigacharger, but my sphere planets are already reserved for science production!"

BIE has heard your wails of anguish, friends!  Introducing our newest gigacharger, the Solar Gigacharger!  Specifically designed for out-of-the-way placement and smaller-scale usage, the Solar is the answer when the question is "where am I gonna put one of these things?"

Instead of a 50 GW monster that requires surveying to place, the Solar is a modest 5.4GW whole-planet setup that's easy to place.  Simply pick a planet that you aren't using for anything else, even one with a below-average solar rating, and plunk it down!  The Solar's integrated Work Crew feature makes building a snap, and it even cleans up after itself!  No more wasted panels just sitting in an ILS after construction's done, your excess can be put right back into the logistics network with only a couple of flipped switches and a belt connection!

Ideal for supplying a large handful of mining outposts way out in the black!  Combine with one of our Polar Warp Stations for easy mining power supply!  Also serves as a useful "my first gigacharger" placement for budding No Hazmat Permit pilots!

There's more panels than the included 120 exchangers actually need, and that's specifically so you can put this down on planets with below-average solar stats and still get useful work out of it.  It'll supply its rated power down to about ~80% solar, and even in the 70% range it'll charge batteries at a useful clip.

The "Work Crew" is a pair of ILS, one at each pole, each with 12 storage preconfigured for logistic-bots.  (240 total) If you've got max range on the logi-bots, they'll give you panels anywhere on the planet, and if not, you only have to walk a bit north or south to get resupplied.  When you're done building, set the output belts on the polar ILS to no product, set the ILS to remote supply, and then connect the broken belt segment; that'll drain the boxes back into the ILS so the excess panels can be used elsewhere.

This also is a "no splitters at all" exchanger setup, with the specific goal of cutting back on processor usage since they're so expensive.

Building's pretty easy, just bring along a few tesla towers, a couple hundred solar panels, three ILS, the exchangers, the sorters, storage, logi-bots, and belts and logistics vessels.  Hit the poles to get the ILS up and running, then the bots will start supplying panels.  Highly recommended you set your panel request to the maximum of 1500.
The Preview feature is unavailable at the time.
